Support in the Development of a Strategic Plan Proposed by the NextGen
Context and Need:
A family-controlled company operating in the food industry, with a current turnover of approximately €110 million, sought support in defining a strategic transformation plan aimed at fostering growth, strengthening the organizational structure, and facilitating the generational transition. The objective was to develop strategic guidelines, addressing key questions such as “when,” “where,” “how,” and with what resources to compete, while undertaking a profound revision of the company’s vision and mission. The plan was to be built around a growth and development trajectory, with a strong focus on the leadership of the NextGen, who would drive the transition.
Our Role:
We supported the ownership in defining the strategic growth drivers, ensuring a constant balance between family governance dynamics and business needs. Our intervention focused on identifying and validating key development areas, including new product lines, expansion into strategic markets, portfolio diversification, technological innovation, and business process optimization. We also integrated ESG strategies into the plan, promoting a sustainable growth approach. Our support facilitated the approval and implementation of the strategy proposed by the NextGen, accelerating the company’s growth trajectory. Following this, we guided the restructuring of corporate governance, assigning key roles to NextGen members and establishing a seven-member Board of Directors, including three independent directors, one of whom was a senior executive with extensive experience, selected through an executive search process.
Our Impact:
As a result of the strategic review and governance transformation, the company experienced exponential revenue growth, increasing from €20 million in 2020 to approximately €110 million today. This progress is accompanied by a projected further expansion, with a strategic goal of achieving significant growth by 2029, including plans for international expansion.
